Book a Hog HuntAt Sanctuary Ranch Hunting Resort in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas, wild hog hunting is a year-round pursuit. Our 2,200-acre private preserve in the Ozark Mountains holds a healthy population of feral hogs every month of the year. Hunts are unguided and done from baited stands — we show you the stands and you come and go to hunt whenever you want, first-timer or seasoned hunter, just 20 minutes from Batesville.
Year-Round Wild Hog Hunting in the Arkansas Ozarks
Unlike deer and upland birds, feral hogs have no closed season in Arkansas. On private land, the state actively encourages landowners to remove them because of the damage they do to habitat and crops. For you, that means one thing: consistent access and consistent action, whether you come in the heat of July or the cold of January.
Hogs are intelligent, well-fed, and always on the move across our varied terrain — hardwood bottoms where they root at night, thick creek cover where they bed, and the edges of our meadows at first and last light. We hunt them from baited stands set over active sign, so you sit where the hogs are working and let them come to you. Stands run $225 each on our hog and predator packages (up to three hunters).
Because our acreage is private and managed, you aren’t competing with public-land crowds or hoping the hogs moved in overnight. They’re here — and the stands are already set and baited over their travel routes.
How Hog Hunting Works — Baited Stands, Your Schedule
Hog hunting at Sanctuary Ranch is unguided and hunted from baited stands. Before your hunt, we set up and bait the stands and show you exactly where each one is. From there it’s yours — you come and go from the stands to hunt whenever you want during your stay, at whatever pace suits you.
It’s a relaxed, self-paced way to hunt that works for everyone from first-timers to seasoned hog hunters. Each stand is $225 and holds up to three hunters, and it pairs naturally with a stay in our on-site lodging so you can hunt dawn and dusk without a commute.
Licenses, Regulations & What We Handle
Every hunter needs a valid Arkansas hunting license, and depending on your method and the time of year, additional permits may apply. All hunting at Sanctuary Ranch is conducted in full accordance with Arkansas Game & Fish Commission regulations. We’ll walk you through exactly what you need before you arrive so there are no surprises on hunt day.
During overlapping firearm seasons, blaze orange is required — bring it along with the rest of your gear below.
Gear, Firearms & Preparing for Your Hunt
For firearms, a centerfire rifle in .243 or larger with quality bullets is a dependable hog setup, and straight-wall and AR-platform rifles are popular here too. Bring the rifle you shoot most confidently — placement behind the shoulder matters more than raw caliber.
